  72.    A NOTE TO VendView USERS

  75.       This file is provided as a convenience for those who may wish to
  76.       register VENDINFO tools OTHER THAN VendView. VendView is free, and
  77.       may be used without further registration or permission.

  79.       The Auto-Upgrade program, which insures that you always have the
  80.       current version of the entire basic VENDINFO tool set, is available
  81.       to users of any of the VENDINFO tools, including VendView.

  84.    REGISTRATION OF VendEdit OR VendPrcs
  85.    ------------------------------------

  87.       The VendEdit editor (which produces VENDINFO.DIZ files) is a
  88.       shareware product requiring payment of a registration fee. The
  89.       VendPrcs processor (used by distributors, such as vendors, sysops,
  90.       and CD-ROM publishers) is also shareware, with one exception.
  91.       VendPrcs can be used free, without registering, by any single-line
  92.       BBS that charges no fees to its users, and is not associated with a
  93.       business. If you wish to register VendEdit or VendPrcs, you can do so
  94.       using the registration form below.
  95.  
  96.       When you register VendEdit or VendPrcs, you acquire a license to use
  97.       the current version indefinitely, as well as any minor maintenance
  98.       upgrades to that version. You will receive the current version by
  99.       mail, but will not automatically receive updates (see "Auto-Upgrade
  100.       Plan", below). Major upgrades (new features) will require payment of
  101.       an additional fee, or participation in the Auto-Upgrade Plan. This
  102.       "unbundling" has been done to minimize the cost of the basic toolset
  103.       while still covering the ongoing costs of the VENDINFO system (such
  104.       as handling of Product Registry materials).

  127.       Participation in the Auto-Upgrade Plan will allow you to receive all
  128.       new releases of the following by mail for one year (or four mailings,
  129.       whichever comes first):

  131.            o  The basic VENDINFO tools (VendEdit, VendPrcs, VendView, and
  132.               supporting programs and files).
  133.  
  134.            o  The VENDINFO.DIZ file standard and information package.
  135.  
  136.       This includes both minor maintenance upgrades and major upgrades. For
  137.       tools that require registration (e.g., VendEdit) and which you've
  138.       registered, the Auto-Upgrade mailings include any necessary new keys
  139.       to allow you to use major new features as a registered user.

  142.    OTHER PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

  145.       Several other VENDINFO-related products and services are available,
  146.       including:

  148.            o  Subscriptions (BBS or mail) to the VENDINFO Product Registry
  149.               (we're working on economical ways of making these services
  150.               available to end-users, as well).

  153.               support to your products.

  160.    REGISTRATION BY E-MAIL

  163.       If we receive your registration form by some form of secure e-mail
  164.       (e.g., CompuServe e-mail, FidoNet crash mail) and you ask us to do
  165.       so, we will send your registration keys by the same mechanism, for
  166.       fast registration. We reserve the right to add a small fee for this
  167.       (not more than $4.00), but our current policy is to charge no fee
  168.       except for international FidoNet crash mail.

  186.       All orders must be prepaid, by Visa, MasterCard, checks payable in
  187.       U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. bank, certified bank drafts drawn in
  188.       the hard currency of the issuing bank, American Express money orders,
  189.       U.S. or International postal money orders, or cash in a hard cur-
  190.       rency. (Rams' Island Software takes no responsibility if you send
  191.       cash, and suggests that if you do so the order be sent by registered
  192.       mail.)

  199.       legibly. In particular, write your company name exactly as you wish

  202.       registration keys for both tools are based on your company name.
